Conversion and fitout of an existing house into a new cafe and wine bar space in the city of Cardiff, with a courtyard garden and associated facilities.
The design focuses on materiality, craft and light. A series of lightweight bespoke elements provide the useful elements of the space, hand crafted by a skilled furniture maker.

Following on from our initial student project at the local coffee roasters where the adjacent space and outdoor terrace were renovated, we returned to complete a comprehensive review of the internal layout and functioning of the shop.
The process removed the existing fit-out and reorganised the space to allow for dual operation as a coffee shop and functioning coffee roasting space. The result is a simple flexible space which can accommodate up to 4 persons working within the space, making coffees, serving customers and preparing food.
